Why not make a will online?

Q. Why do some people say that making a will online is not a good idea?

A. Because they have a vested interest in doing so.

The comments almost invariably come from solicitors who for many years have had a virtual monopoly on the wills and probate market - usually as high prices.

Unless your will is particularly complicated, making a will online will save you both time and money.

You can make a FULL CHECKED will for £29.95 at www.tenminutewill.co.uk

I tried tenminutewill but had a very unhelpful response when asking a question about a confusing point on their website form. The form showed a line "you can choose the option above to include extra detail" - but there was no option box!!
I said the form was confusing and how did I enter the option. Got the reply "it is only confusing to the easily confused. We suggest you go elsewhere".
So I did and they lost £110 and some other potential business

I have spoken with 10minutewill direct about this and am assured they received no such email.

Perhaps it is not insignificant that you have logged in anonymously.

If you can reply with your details (these are never shared) I can check it further.

It was not an email but a lengthy ticket. If you get the OK from them for me to send you a copy I will gladly send it to you with the email of the screen dumps.
The reason for anonymous is that they have all my personal data on their database - they say they have deleted it but I am sure they have backups of when it was live on their system.
